Our Story
Fundamentally, our story is about creating an experience. At Comicoffee, our aim has always been about that coffee house vibe, with a strong theme of pop culture, superheroes and retro comics. Great coffee and great food goes without saying of course – and we do make delicious coffees, milkshakes, and our house speciality of sweet and savoury waffles are awesome.

And we have lots of exiting merchandise to see and buy, we have regular events, and we can cater for parties and corporate lunches too.

History
We started Comicoffee in 2018, with our first cafe in Newport, Isle of Wight. The aim was to merge Comic/Pop Culture with a great coffee house experience. So we styled the cafe with comic icons and ‘superhero’ art and provided free comics around the place for a nostalgic read. Great food and drink was important too, so we chose Island Roasted Coffee and Brew Tea Co, and created a menu of delicious sweet and savoury waffles, other light meals, and plenty of Vegan options.
And the great news was, the idea proved to be very popular. So in 2021 we opened our second cafe in East Cowes, Isle of Wight, and a third venue in West Cowes, right by the Red Jet terminal. The comic/Pop Culture experience in our cafes was really on a roll now.

Then in summer of 2022 we decided to pull out of East Cowes. As Comicoffee has been growing, it's become clear to us that our East Cowes venue was not really in the best location. A change of plan will allow us to develop Comicoffee even more. As they say.... one door closes, another opens.... so keep your eyes peeled for exciting announcements in the near future.
The Comicoffee Experience
Cool music, great coffee and tea, gorgeous house-shakes and loads of tasty sweet and savoury food to delight everyone.
Bring the family for some delicious waffles stacked with fruit and cream, or ice cream and grated chocolate. Or grab a really well-made takeout coffee as you shop around Newport or dash for the Red Jet in Cowes. You can book a table with a group of friends to sit in, or outside, and have a great time catching up – and keep the kids entertained with plenty of free comics to read and original Bat Man on the TV.
And there's more. We have loads of great merchandise for you to buy in store and online, like our house coffee blend, a nice Comicoffee mug or a Comicoffee tee shirt. Or perhaps a great piece of superhero merchandise from one of the great franchises such as Marvel, Batman, Ironman, Predator or Terminator. We also love to be sociable, with our regular evening events like our Warhammer gaming and painting evenings, quizzes, or mini exhibitions of local art (sometimes with an evening licence for a few cheeky cocktails).
